Cultural activities

The congress includes the following cultural activities

Friday, May 6th, Visit to the Portuguese Parliament

This Friday, May 6th, will take place the first activity of the Lusophone Congress on Western Esotericism.

This visit aims to focus on the Enlightenment symbolism of paintings and sculptures present in the parliament. There is no need for a special registration on this event, other than the registration in the congress itself.

The visit will start at 3pm, so it is requested to all attendants to be present 10 minutes earlier. The meeting point is the side door on Rua de São Bento (São Bento Street).

For those not attending this visit, the registration will be open, at the University (on no Ponto Único de Informação (PUI)) between 2pm and 5pm. On Saturday registration will also be open to everyone from 8am to 10am.

Sunday, May 8th, Visit to the Library of the Palácio Nacional de Mafra

Sunday, May 8th, there will be a visit to the Library of the Palácio Nacional de Mafra.

The visit (starting at 9am) includes a guided tour to the palace, followed by a talk in the Library by the Prof. Peter Forshaw on the theme Renaissance Hermeticism.

A bus will leave from the University at 8am, so all participants are required to be at the University no later than 7h45am.

This activity has a limited number of places due to the palace logistics, so a special registration is required. This registration will take place during the check-in. Places will be taken as a first-come, first-served basis.

Please note: Check-in will take place Friday, May 6th, from 2pm to 5pm, at the University, on the Ponto Único de Informação (PUI). Check-in will also be open on Saturday from 8am to 10am. If necessary, it will also open during the afternoon.
